Kentucky Engagement Photograher | James E. Pepper Distillery | Lexington, KY | Allison + Ben

Ben + Allison’s love is pure and beautiful. It was literally like hanging out with two best friends who just so happen to be madly in love with one another. You can not get much better than that, am I right? Since Ben used to work at the Distillery, we got a super awesome private tour of the place. I have never been to a Distillery before so I felt super cool to be able to get this awesome tour AND snap some photos in the location. This was so much fun and was the perfect unique location for these two.

The Weigle Wedding | Old Glory School House | Central Kentucky Wedding Photographers

You know what I love about weddings the most? Every single love story is unique. It’s personal. There is no other couple in this world that shares the same story or connection, as you do with your spouse. Being able to witness the beginning of a new season in a couple’s life and documenting their love story as it naturally unfolds before me is such an honor.

Kentucky Photographer | Beulah Blooms At Richardson Farms | Monticello, KY |Sunflower Minis

Taylor Reynolds of TayReynold’s Photography contacted me about a beautiful field of sunflowers located on Richardson’s Farms in Monticello, KY. This is the place where we had our very first wedding together and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. Not to mention how absolutely gorgeous the venue is and how kind the owners are. I had no idea that they had their own garden where they sell fresh flowers so I knew we had to jump on the opportunity of photographing in the sunflower fields.

Kentucky Wedding Photographer | Southern Pearl, Somerset, KY | The Jones Wedding

Tammy & Jason are two of the most raddest people I have ever met. I feel truly blessed to have had this opportunity to work with them on capturing such an amazing day and create a newly found friendship with the two of them. These two love music, to go camping and hiking together, and let me just say they definitely know how to throw a good party. I had so much fun photographing the whole day but especially the reception where everyone got to cut lose and have the time of their lives. We all did not want the night to end.

Springfield, Kentucky | Lifestyle Newborn Session | The Leechmans

The galleries I send tend to be a mix of photos of your child’s favorite toys, close-ups of nose scrunches, tender moments between siblings, silly faces, so many hugs and kisses, and a liquid that will inevitably spill…. pun intended. Of course I try to throw in a few standard smiling photos for Grandma, but I see photographs as a record, and more importantly, a story that deepens your own understanding of yourself and the legacy you are leaving with your children and grandchildren.

When it comes to true love, it has a way of creating a unique connection between two people, one that is much bigger than what we can see. It has it’s own vibrant life, an individual and invisible color and song. I am always so fascinated by this connection and how an image turns a fleeting moment into a trapdoor of rediscovery, taking the couple back to the simple beauty and emotion of the moment.

Kentucky Family Photographer | Mill Springs, Kentucky | The Mosley Family

These moments are real. Nothing staged or overly posed. I was an observer. An admirer.

I use to carry this weight of responsibility. But as I’ve grown as an artist, the more I let that responsibility go.  I’m inspired by the natural rhythm of your family. I may tell you where to stand and tweak a few minor things but the rest is up to you.  I really like to let your kids guide us and your relationship unfold. That’s when the true magic happens.

Imagine this: It’s 30 years into the future and you’re looking at the most precious pictures you have ever seen. In fact, you have seen them before—many times. And every single time you do, their raw loveliness makes you stop, breathe a little deeper, and focus a little more closely. Most of the time, what strikes you as particularly beautiful has a hint of the exotic, the faraway, the extraordinary. But that’s not the case with these pictures. The beauty of these pictures is directly proportional to how much familiarity they contain.

Their beauty is in the familiarity of details. The way your baby used to smile when your husband sang to him. The way your son’s feet couldn’t touch the floor when he sat in his favorite chair. The way your husband looked at you as you were holding your child close. Their beauty comes from the truths they tell. How life was sometimes harder than you could have ever imagined. How authentic happiness took you by surprise. How much you all loved each other then—and how much you always will.

I want to give you this experience of familiar and truthful beauty. It’s an experience you can access every time you see the pictures I took when you and your loved ones were being your unguarded selves. When you trust that your photographer has an eye for what’s truly beautiful, you can let go and just live in front of the camera. That’s when the most enchanting stories play out. That’s when what you really want to remember can be captured.

Kentucky Motherhood Photographer | Brianna Vanhook | Mother + Son Session

I live to create imagery that make up stop, and just feel for a moment. To create those genuine, heart felt images. I live to create and as long as I am doing that, I am doing right. The spark of joy I get from showing a mother just how much love she gives to her little ones, or showing a mother the way her children stare at her when she’s not watching is what keeps me going. I feel so much happiness in what I do, I am one of the luckiest people on this planet.

Kentucky Birth Photographer | Bristol’s Birth Story

Women have the unique ability to be both tender and strong, both physically and mentally. Our bodies although soft and delicate, are the creators of life and the journey through pregnancy, birth, and beyond is a reminder of just how powerful they really are. Childbirth is a transformative process, when a baby is born so is a mother and our bodies deserve to be celebrated for the changes they have undergone to grow and sustain a new life.

Reflections Of Hope | Elliott Burkhart's Story | Anencephaly Awareness

I said a little prayer and asked God not only to give me the strength, but to give Taylor & Sam the strength, to allow them to be blessed with time with Elliott, and for him to just take my hands into his and to help me to capture the moments that Taylor and Sam needed. You guys, he did that and more! God is unbelievably good. Elliott lived for an hour and a half!!!! That is such a blessing and what an honor it was for me to have been able to capture her life and also, her death. She was surrounded by so much love. I mean, the power of love that was bouncing off the walls in that small hospital room was indescribable.

Kentucky Engagement Photographer | Kaitlyn + Travis | Pinnacle of Berea, Kentucky

The hike to the Pinnacles was not easy, just a warning to everyone who has yet to be there. We took the steepest yet shortest trail towards the East Pinnacle and the view was absolutely breathtaking. I had mentioned to Taylor that the hike was a perfect represetation of Christianity. The path way towards the top was not easy and even though we had to stop and take a break a few times, once we arrived at the top it was all worth it. It was worth the struggles to witness the beauty at the top of that journey.

Collin + Olivia Huntsman | Kentucky Wedding Photographer | Richardson Farms | Monticello, Kentucky

Collin is truly Olivia’s soul mate because once I left the women to go check on the men, he was just as relaxed as she was. It was apparent that this was meant to be for them and they were both more than ready to be connected through the bond of marriage. The whole day was perfect. It wasn’t to hot and even though it was a little windy, it cooled the air around us so that it was a comfortable temperature. The sun set perfectly behind them as they said their vows. The food was unbelievable. Like I said, it was the perfect day.

Lifestyle Kentucky Photographer | At home session with The VanHook’s

Honestly, They make it easy. My kids are best friends and they are good boys. We have a routine, they have chores and responsibilities, and kindness is key in our house. You treat others as you want to be treated. They know to use their manners, follow the rules, and always be respectful. Now let’s be honest, it’s not rainbows and butterflies 24/7. Come on, I live in a house full of rambunctious boys and their dad is like another kid when they all get fired up but our house is overflowing with fun and love. We are raising little gentleman and they make this mommas job so easy and I’m very proud.

Kentucky Elopement | Wedding Photographer | Tiffany + Josh’s Love Story

Imagine a tiny cabin in the woods. A home overflowing with plants. Where we dry our laundry on the clothes line out back. We wake before the sun, stay up late reading, nap during the late afternoon in a hammock. We have a garden full of flowers, herbs, vegetables and berries. We go on picnics regularly by a nearby river. We have little reason to ever leave our home tucked deep inside the forest. A place where both animals and children roam wildly.

I think for us, getting married in the woods was a must, just felt right and apart of our love story.
