It’s in the middle of winter which is my slow season so I thought I would take this time to not only work on the behind the scenes business stuff but to share some of my favorite sessions that I hadn’t had time to show on the blog.
Every mother has a unique story to tell, whether their pregnancy was a planned one, a surprise, a long awaited one through IVF, or they miscarried or even lost a child, we all experience a journey like no other. From the moment we find out we are growing a tiny person inside our womb we are no longer only responsible for ourselves, and we learn to accept that our bodies, which will go through continuous changes are no longer our own. As we watch our bellies swell and begin to feel those tiny kicks, our hearts grow bigger than we could have ever imaged, our identity goes through a significant shift, and we become a part of the sacred circle of motherhood
I wanted to talk a little bit about the term "Lifestyle" since it is one that is quite often thrown around in our industry and it is what people of use to describe my work.
The words we use to describe our work matter very little in my mind. What matters is how I work makes those who view it feel.
YOU GUYS!!!!!!!! I am beyond excited to share these images with you all. When Shawna reached out to me to photograph a more intimate at home maternity session for her I wanted to scream for joy! This is the session to my heart. There is just something so magical about photographing a Mama connecting with her unborn child in a more raw form of skin to skin.

I am so excited to share this gallery with all of you. As soon as the Bell Family stepped out of their vehicle I was impressed with their color scheme and outfits. The tones were absolutely perfect and not to mention just how cute this little family is together. I feel unbelievably blessed to have met them and was chosen to capture their newest family photos.
Below is a recent Intimate Motherhood Session that I had with Jessica and Ellie in my new at home studio. I absolutely love how these moments turned out and am so grateful for Jessica, who helped me create a gallery to show clients the images I would love to capture for mothers. Your babies will not be babies forever and each day they grow and change, way to fast for our hearts to bare. Their hands might not fit into yours the way they do today and those little details of daily life are so fleeting. That is why I am so passionate with photography, no matter what type of session I am helping to document, the real, raw, emotional, organic moments that make you and your loved ones special is what I love to focus on and preserve forever.
I live to create imagery that make up stop, and just feel for a moment. To create those genuine, heart felt images. I live to create and as long as I am doing that, I am doing right. The spark of joy I get from showing a mother just how much love she gives to her little ones, or showing a mother the way her children stare at her when she’s not watching is what keeps me going. I feel so much happiness in what I do, I am one of the luckiest people on this planet.
Honestly, They make it easy. My kids are best friends and they are good boys. We have a routine, they have chores and responsibilities, and kindness is key in our house. You treat others as you want to be treated. They know to use their manners, follow the rules, and always be respectful. Now let’s be honest, it’s not rainbows and butterflies 24/7. Come on, I live in a house full of rambunctious boys and their dad is like another kid when they all get fired up but our house is overflowing with fun and love. We are raising little gentleman and they make this mommas job so easy and I’m very proud.
I am so thankful for our village. We don’t have family close by, but our friends and neighbors have become like family. Find your village, love them, and accept help when you need it.
I absolutely loved working with this beautiful little family for the second time this year. I mean, just look at them? (Insert heart eyes!!!) Their happiness and love radiated from them the whole time during their session and will live forever within these photographs. I normally share my client’s stories with their images. We first scheduled Ariana’s senior photos but turned it into a super fun couple’s session which we all still love to reflect back upon. Remembering the way these two love birds looked at one another back then and seeing them now, as a happily married couple with a one year old daughter, my heart melts. This little family has trusted me time and time again with helping them document such special moment’s in their journey together and THIS people, is why I love what I do!
I have wanted to photograph Highland cows for a long time now and finally I got to see them up close. Day. Made. Bucket list item checked off even though I would love to photograph them more and more. Thank you Katie for allowing me to tag along and capture these sweet Mommy & Me photos for you and your sweet baby boy. And a huge thank you to Hickory Hills Farms for inviting us to use their farm and cows for the best photo backdrop. I had the best time.
