FAQ’s

Q: Where are you located?

A: I am located in Somerset, Kentucky.

Q: What type of equipment do you use and do you shoot film?

A: I shoot with professional level equipment, including my Canon R5, Canon 5D Mark iv, & Canon 6D Mark ii, and prime lenses.

Q: What editing software do you use?

A: I use both Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC.

Q: What kind of payments do you except?

A: I currently take cash, check, use PayPal & Venmo. I also offer payment plans. If you have questions about that, please feel free to send me a message.

Q: How much is your retainer fee?

A: The retainer payment is 30% of the total of your session.  The 30% secures me for that date.  If for a wedding, there are no other shoots on the day of the wedding. The retainer is non-refundable.

Q: Do you offer discounts and specials?

A: Yes, from time to time I offer monthly specials as well as Mini Sessions. I also offer discounts for all active and retired service members as well as fire and police. Please follow me on Facebook and Instagram where I post information on upcoming specials.

Q: Do you shoot weddings with two photographers?

A: Yes! I have several Professional Photographer Friends who are my second shooters.

Q: Do you photograph boudoir sessions?

A: I do. The location must be either chosen outdoors or I can come to your house or chosen indoor location. I also do offer Bridal Boudoir as well. Feel free to send me a message for more details.

Q: Do you offer prints or albums?

A: My style doesn't allow my heart to only give my clients a few images or prints. That's why my collections deliver your whole gallery. When telling your story + documenting your moments I don't want to leave out any details - and I don't want you to miss them either. My beautiful online galleries always offer a la carte pricing for prints, canvases, and albums. Leaving you with the whole story - not just a chapter.

I always recommend printing through your gallery link or other reputable printers. Printing at box stores like Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc. are not high quality printers and I can not guarantee their quality or correct colors with printing.

Q: Do you back up your images after a session/wedding?

A: Yes, I back them up on a hard drive. I keep sessions on this for up to 6 months and weddings for a year.

Q: How do we receive our images?

A: I will place the finished images on an online downloadable gallery. The images will be deleted after 30 days so please make sure to save your images onto something safe. I can also add your images onto a flash drive but an additional fee will be added to your total. You can view the extra fee and pricing on our Story Collections page.

Q:what is included in my collection fee?

A: Collections include communication with me prior to your session on location, lighting, timing, wardrobe, and special details you want captured during our time together. Also includes my travel time to/from location (within 40 minutes of zip code 42503), post processing with hand editing your gallery, personalized online viewing gallery, and access to my my online store. Sessions are around 60 to 90 minutes depending on the flow of your family / business. Your collection includes all of the best full size digital files with a print release. My online galleries also provide access to my professional printer for prints, canvases, albums and a variety of unique and gorgeous options. I am also happy to accomodate payment plans prior to your session.

Q: what will my session be like?

A: Laid back! I focus on connections + authenticity versus posed portraiture. Don’t worry, I’ll get the shot or two of everyone looking - but that’s not my focus. I use no formal props and encourage having activities/ideas for children or a location that spurs creative play. I do minimal posing and provide prompts to enhance interactions between couples + families. I shoot a variety of flattering angles and will guide you on what to do while still being your true self.

Q: can i bring props to my session?

A: Anything you would normally bring to the location with your family I welcome! (Guitars, books, favorite teddy bear, picnic basket, football, etc). I want your images to reflect emotion + connection - and out of place props take away from that. BUT keep in mind - I LOVE anything unique you think of! Let’s get C R E A T I V E and make your session represent Y O U and yours.

Q: what if my kids wont cooperate?

A: I totally get it. My kiddos are either asleep or at top speed. The beauty of lifestyle photography is that it’s so relaxed. I encourage moments for your kids to explore the area (which is typically new to them!) And i'll get some shots of them playing in the dirt, finding an amazing bug, or running after their sibling. A little dirt on tiny pants and toes is darling and I'm happy to chase after your ever-moving children. Your children being themselves will make your session so special and help you all remember just as things were. Perfectly imperfect. Embrace it Mama and know that together we got this. You don’t worry about a thing.

Q: does it matter what i wear?

A: Yes - it does matters! Colors, textures, and styles are all important in representing the feel of your session. In my welcome guide I have all of my tips and tricks for styling.

Q: Do you photograph births?

A: YES! Click here for my Q&A for Birth Photography.

Q: Do you do fresh 48 sessions?

A: YES! Click here to check out the details.

Q: Are you a full time photographer?

I work anywhere between 5-9 hour a day. Not counting sessions during the week and weekends. <3

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: If I had to give my style a name, I would call it film inspired and lifestyle driven. Basically that means that depending on the lighting of your session, I tend to love more warmer earthy tones in my edits, creamy skin tones, and colors that pop over photos that are just the right amount of posey-posey and candid.

Q: Do you travel for weddings and engagement sessions?

A; Yes, I am always happy to travel for any type of session. Please keep in mind that I am a Stay at home & homeschooling mother during the week until my husband gets off work and I have to plan ahead when it comes to traveling so please let me know at least 2-3 weeks in advance. I love to travel and discover new places. When you inquire with me, just mention the preferred location and I will fill you in on the details. I try to keep my travel fees as low as possible so that I can travel as fas and wide as possible. It is one of the things I hope to adventure to with this job.

Q: I have a preferred shot list, what is your take on that?

A: I have a love/hate relationship with shot lists but of course accept them. I am a visual person and appreciate the need for inspiration and having a photo to turn to as a reference (I owe many thanks to Pinterest!). However, I don't love being shown an entire pinterest board of 'must haves' because it actually hinders the creative process for me as a photographer. My goal is for us to trust each other and we will make some magic with your photographs and you are welcome to make a mood board and send it to me to help me visually see your goals or style for your session!

Q: Why are you hands on with wedding day timelines?

A: Because of lighting! It is gold! And it literally runs the entire show. Portraits need to happen at the right time in the right light to get the same type of work you see all over my Instagram and website. But don't freak out, I will be happy to help with the planning process to make sure we have all the golden goodness we need!

Q: What do we get with our package when we book you?

A: It depends on the package but included in every collection is my dedicated attention to helping you in every possible way in planning to get the best photos that we can.

Q: Do you deliver the RAW files from our session?

A: Simple answer here, no.

Have a question that I did not answer here? Please get in touch with me! I would be happy to answer
