Tipful Tuesday | WHAT TO DO ONCE YOU RECEIVE YOUR PHOTOS | Couple session with The Mounces

As a photographer, I take so much pride in what I do and the work that I provide to my clients and their happiness is the utmost important to me.

I work my booty off (as does every photographer!) in the weeks that follow your session, editing, perfecting, and crying over your beautiful faces and the images we were able to capture together. And because this is a form of art, plus something so personal, it's value becomes infinite. Which is why I wanted to pass on some tips to those of you who just received their images and now are unsure of what to do with all of them.

Let's go!

1. Back Them Up

"Back it up, back it up".. No this is not some silly song, it is the absolute truth! Chances are if you recently had a photo session done, your images are living in an online gallery, or on some type of USB or hard drive. My first tip to you would be BACK THOSE IMAGES UP...MULTIPLE TIMES...IN MULTIPLE PLACES

This step is so crucial. Unfortunately technology is not always the most reliable, so it is very important to make sure you have saved your images many times + in multiple places. Whether it be on USB's, Hard drives, the cloud, etc etc. Just please make sure you save them. Because once those photos land in your possession, they are no longer the photographer's responsibility to care for. (Even though 99% of photogs still hold onto them for at least a year). And there is a good chance that the online gallery will not be living on the internet forever since most photographers only leave them up for a certain amount of time. MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD YOUR GALLERIES!

My personal favorite places for storage:

1. Google Photos

2. An external Hard drive (my recommendation can be found here).

3. At least 2 different USB's stored in a safe place

2. Print Them

I remember being a little girl, and even to this day, going through all of my baby books, and going through boxes and boxes of printed out photos of me as a kid and just all the memories of my life thus far. Unfortunately, in today's world, we have become so wrapped up in social media and social sharing, we hardly ever print photos anymore. Everything is done digitally and at the click of a button.

Printing your photos is so important to me. Its something tangible that you can hold in your hand and store easily. And of course in case all of your technology one day crashes, you will still have those photographs to hold onto.

My favorite print shops!

1. Parabo Press

2. Mpix

3. Smallwoods

4. FreePrints App (For quick prints that are great quality)

5. The Online Gallery I send my photos too has a printing company that has wonderful quality and options.

3. Leave a Review!

Trust me on this one.. your photographer is just as anxious to give send off your photos as you are to receive them. If not more! The best thing you can do for them..? Send them a message! Tell them how much you love them and how you enjoyed your experience. And then take all of those kind words and leave them a review. Whether it be on their Facebook page, their website, or just in a text message so they can post your happy reactions! It will be a HUGE weight off of their shoulders, and they will do so many happy dances ( I promise )!!

When clients do not respond to their photographer once the photos have been sent (even if it's not on purpose) it can be so overwhelming and stressful for the photographer who keeps wondering what went wrong, or what they could have done better.

If you are a client of mine wanting to leave a review, please do so on my Facebook page! (click here) xoxo

4. Post, Share, Cry, Repeat!

Once, you are all backed up, contacted your photographer, left a review and have considered printing images, now comes the best part! Sharing them with the world!

Now is your chance to brag about your photographer to your friends, and share the moments from the best day of your life with everyone who couldn't be there.

To go along with this Blog Post, here are some recent favorites from Mr. & Mrs. Mounce’s latest couple session that just turned out SO DREAMY!!!!!!! I had to share. We had the funnest time driving in a Gator, down their family road, and stopping at mutlple places to snap some swoon worthy images. <3 Thank you Kaitlin + Blake for showing me around and making this session idea come to life. You were the best models and I had so much fun. Even if a donkey almost tried to kill us LOL!!!!
