Golden Hour & Woodland Whimsy: The Nevels Family Session

Some sessions feel like magic from the very first click—and this was definitely one of them. I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Nevels family, and everything about this evening felt like a dream. From the way the golden light wrapped around them in the open field, to the peaceful woodland backdrop that gave their session a cozy, storybook feel—it was a photographer’s dream come true.

Watching this sweet family of four interact was such a joy. Mom and Dad were effortlessly loving and playful with their two little girls, who brought all the energy, curiosity, and giggles you could hope for. Whether it was twirling in the tall grass, snuggling close in the shade of the trees, or just exploring the space together, every moment felt real and full of heart. As a family photographer, sessions like these remind me of why I do what I do. It’s about so much more than pretty pictures—it’s about capturing connection. The quiet moments. The wild ones. The kind you’ll want to look back on years from now when the kids are grown and these days are just memories.
